Raiden's Role in MGS: Sadly, Raiden is not the main character to MGS, however, he does play a critical role. Raiden's development into the perfect soldier was crucial to the success of the defeat of The Patriots. However, Raiden also proved to be the source of The Patriots rise to power due to Raiden's remarkable capabilities. Raiden's most memorable role in MGS would have to be his introduction to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of The Patriots. Once thought to be dead, Raiden makes a spectacular introduction during a fight between mech-warriors and Solid Snake which proves to save Snake and his crew. Raiden does this on several occasions . Raiden proves to be invincible! In an act of sacrifice shortly after his battle with Vamp, Raiden amputates his arm to set himself free from a fallen boulder in order to rush to Solid Snake's aid. Once at Snake's side, Raiden stops ship from crushing Snake, and in doing so, gets crushed himself, and lost in the sea. When thought to be dead, Raiden returns once again to Snake's aid to provide a distraction from the squad of soldiers surrounding them. Having lost his arms, Raiden uses his feet and mouth to hold his primary weapon. |
