Vamp is Raiden's greatest nemesis. Although they are enemies, they share similarities. Raiden is powered by a cyborg suit that is repairable and can sustain much damage. Vamp's body contains a virus which allows him to heal like Raiden, but at a much quicker rate. He can also regenerate vital organs such as the brain, making him virtually immortal. Vamp also possess high combat skill like Raiden, making him a formidable foe. Despite their rivalry, Raiden and Vamp uphold a warrior's respect for each other. The virus in Vamp's body gives Vamp the gift of immortality, but like Raiden, he too was a child soldier, and has had a similar tragic history. Vamp's bloody past has contributed to his psychotic behavior, but his behavior is partially derived from the desire to die. Vamp believes Raiden is the only one that can kill him, and wants him to, but as a warrior with pride, will not die willingly. Raiden fights Vamp to aid Snake. His warrior pride also will not allow such a villain to get away with crimes, and as his duty to Snake, decides to pursue Vamp as his greatest Nemesis. Raiden eventually is able to defeat Vamp at Shadow Moses in an intense close quarters combat using knives. You can watch the awesome battle for yourself below! |
